Excellent Laptop!!,
For the price the performance of the ASUS A73E-XA1 can’t be beat. Out of the box it was up and running in only a few minutes. So far I’ve been able to use every program I’ve installed without a glitch. I use it mainly for music and photo editing but I have a few games installed as well. Photo editing uses a lot of memory but this computer handles Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom with no issues. Overall I am very happy with the performance and looks of this laptop.

|This laptop does not get hot when running,
I am very impressed with two things about this laptop, the battery life and the ‘ice cool’ technology. I had the laptop running on a flat desk surface for more than 6 hours and when I picked it up it wasn’t even close to being warm on the bottom and it doesn’t have a noisy fan that keeps it cool. The second thing I really like is the battery life I had forgotten to plug it in and was online playing a game for more than an hour and a half before I got a pop up about the battery being about 2/3′s drained. Nothing slowed down. I have had a laptop of one manufacture or another since 1998 and this one is very good and exceptionally good for the price.

My family and I have been using the same Gateway PC for about 8 years. It was a great computer, but it was majorly outdated. I have purchased 3 laptops in the last 6 months or so: 1 for my son, 1 for my mother-in-law, and 1 for my family. I do a ton of research before I make any major purchases and ASUS continues to offer awesome laptops at very affordable prices. I based my decision on several factors including cost, processor, RAM, ROM/HDD, and reliability. I did a little digging and found an article based on research done on computers and found that ASUS had the lowest failure rate of ANY computer manufacturer out there. ASUS also manufactures motherboards for other major manufacturers like Apple. A number of ASUS models are listed as “Recommended” on the Consumer Reports website. I also looked at the other Customer Reviews on Amazon.com and saw nothing that negative that would scare me away. Next, I compared prices of other similar manufacturers. I simply could not find another computer out there that offered a 17.3″ monitor, Intel i5 2.3GHz processor, at least 4GB RAM, and 750GB ROM/HDD. The other bells and whistles I liked were the BluRay player, long battery life, 1 year warranty (covers breakage, defects, spills, you name it), and the tech support is one of the best out there. You actually get to speak with someone who speaks English which is a definite plus compared to others out there. So far, this laptop has lived up to its expectations. I have no complaints and would totally recommend ASUS to anyone looking for a reliable, high quality computer at a very competitive price…something that is very hard to come by these days.
